After a six-year hiatus, the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (ASMINDO) is making a triumphant return with the highly-anticipated international furniture and craft exhibition, IFFINA (Indonesia Furniture & Design Expo 2023). The resurgence of this event is seen as a pivotal step towards the renaissance of Indonesia’s thriving furniture industry.
But what exactly is IFFINA? IFFINA stands as an internationally acclaimed furniture exhibition initiated by ASMINDO. With its inception dating back to 1988, ASMINDO proudly carries the distinction of being Indonesia’s oldest furniture and craft association. Today, it boasts an impressive network of 23 regional commissioners spanning the nation and a diverse membership base, encompassing businesses of all sizes, from large-scale enterprises to small and micro-industries.
IFFINA: Elevating Indonesian Craftsmanship and Design on the Global Stage
This year, IFFINA takes center stage in Indonesia, featuring five key product categories: furniture, craft, project design, homeware, home fabric, and decorative & gifts. With the tagline ‘The New Sourcing Circle in Asia,’ IFFINA 2023 aims to establish itself as a trendsetter in the Southeast Asia region. This aspiration extends to both the furniture and craft exhibitions.
The IFFINA 2023 exhibition is scheduled to take place from September 14th to 17th. ICE (Indonesia Convention & Exhibition) BSD will host it, spanning six halls. The event anticipates welcoming around 10,000 visitors and showcases a diverse array of offerings within its five primary categories.
IFFINA 2023 promises to be a global affair with the participation of 400 furniture and craft companies from both Indonesia and abroad. These companies will showcase their top-tier products, with a remarkable 90 percent hailing from Indonesia itself.
What adds to the prestige of this event is the robust support it enjoys from three ministries: the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM), the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), and Bank Indonesia (BI).
